Letting it Go

Well, I did it!

After thinking about it for about a week, I thought "what the hey, go for it."

After deciding to go for it, I had to then wait a week before my appointment to come around. On Thursday, I swung by to get my partner in crime Aubry (she totally went for emotional support and to make sure I didn't back out at the last minute) and we headed to the salon. I got just at eight inches cut off.

And, I'm totally in love with it!

I've been rocking the long straight hair for about the last 15 years. Twice, I've cut it to my shoulders, but nothing ever drastic. In fact, most of the time no one can even tell I've had my hair cut. I wanted something different and drastic (with not going blonde), something people would notice. So far, I think I've succeeded with that.

After thinking about it for so long, I figured it was meant to be after my Dad called to tell me he thought it would look good. My dad is not a fan of short hair on women. Eight years ago, when I got it cut to just above my shoulders, he called me a boy. So, I figured if he was for it, to go for it.

Everyone kept asking me if I was nervous beforehand, the more I thought about it, I wasn't at all. I'm not sure if it's due to growing up, becoming a mom or what, but I came to the realization that if the biggest complaint in life I have is a bad haircut, then life must be pretty good.

Thankfully, I love the new haircut. In fact, I like it so much, I've already made an appointment to go back in six weeks to keep it short. Those who know me know that's a big move on my part.

It looks GREAT on you! My hair is so curly, every time I cut it short & try to leave it curly, I hate it. I end up looking like a poodle. I wish I could pull off a cute bob like that, but with curly hair its hard! Anyways, you look FAB!
