I was feeling left out

The past couple of weeks, everyone has been posting their Summer List. Meg at Whatever (one of my all time favorite blogs) started the Summer List a couple of summers ago with her kids. I remember when I saw the post last summer thinking that it was a wonderful idea and I couldn't wait to do it with my own kids. Well, I have my own kid now, but I doubt our list would be too long being she is only eight months old.

Well, Nic said the other day that she was making a Summer List for their house. I'll be honest, I was a tad bit jealous.

I wanna Summer List!!!! (for those who know me, read it in my whinny voice & if you don't know what my voice sounds like, just imagine)

The other day at her house, I was glancing at her list and noticed that she had a couple of projects that didn't necessary involve stuff for Josie. There were a few things that she had just been wanting to do. So that got me thinking...

I am a queen list maker. I have a little notebook that I carry around just to make list or jot down notes. But, I'm going to be completely honest, 90% of the time, I make the list, look at it a few times, and never get half the stuff done on it. Then, I make a new list. I thought this would be a great way to make a permit list for stuff I wanted to get done in the next few months.

(In case your wondering, I promise that is not mold on the side of the fridge. During one of our moves, the poor thing got it's paint ripped off. I keep meaning to touch it up with paint, but of course, I haven't gotten around to it.)

I did it in true Meg style and wrote it in rainbow colors and then posted it on the side of the fridge where I can glance at it everyday. Yes, I wrote mine in a straight line because I tried several times to write it across like she does, but it was driving me insane. I won't lie, I started on a new list three times before I decided to list things straight down. Blame it on the anal-retentiveness.

I won't bore you with the details, but it's basically stuff I want to get done around the house by the end of summer. I originally started out with only 30 things, but of course, I started thinking of several more once I started writing. My list ended up with 42 things. I've also decided that my list is going to follow the seasonal calendar, so my list will last till the end of September.

If this goes well, I might start doing one for each season.

It took me TEN tries to get mine right. Number 9 was looking good until Josie decided to reach over and plant a huge B right in the middle.

Gotta love 3 year olds!

I will have to write mine in true list form as well. My OCD won't allow me to do it the other way!!
