Reading 2012
This year, I decided to not really set any reading goal for myself like I did last year.
Last year, I set my goal to read 20 books and I knocked that one out of the park. By the end of the year, I had read 35 books.
I've decided since I'm focusing on other things this year, that I didn't want to put a set number on what I wanted to read and instead focus on reading what I've already got in my collection.
A couple of weeks ago, I scouted our bookshelves and picked out a few that I've been wanting to mark off my "read" list for some time now. I put them in a stack next to my nightstand, so when I get the urge to pick up a new book, they are right there in front of me.
To get at least some of these read, will be a personal accomplishment since I've picked up each one of them at least once before to read, but never got past the first few chapters. Plus, several of these are pretty thick, so that's a little scary too.
My goal is to not buy myself any new books unless they are for book club. I highly doubt I'll accomplish that though.
Books are my thing.
Since y'all know I love a good list, here's what I'm hoping to read this year:
1. To Kill A Mockingbird (I have actually read this before, but it was in 8th grade)
2. Atlas Shrugged
3. The Time Travelers Wife
4. The Forgotten Garden
5. Peachtree Road
6. The Historian
7. One Thousand Gifts
8. The Widow of the South
9. One Thousand White Women
10. Fall of the Giants
11. 11/22/63
What are you reading this year?
