Everything happens in 3's, right?

This poor girl....

She's had a rough last week.

They say everything happens in 3's, so I'm hoping and praying she's good for awhile.

While camping last weekend she bit the dust and literally tumbled down a hill while trying to keep cool with the water hose. I looked up and all I could see was her feet in the air and then heard her screaming.  She had slipped in the mud and took a hard dive head first.

Thankfully she stood right up, cried for 2.5 seconds, and walked away with a only a bruised and scrapped up shoulder.

(Right before her tumble down the hill)

Only to less than an hour later, take a bad crash on her bike. I wasn't there to witness it for myself, but David said she went off the road and then tried to save herself, only to completely wipeout on the asphalt. She tore up both knees pretty badly, but again, she took it like a champ and barely cried. Thankfully she was wearing a helmet! However, she was sore for days and it took days to finally get one of the knees to finally stop bleeding.

By Wednesday morning, she said she had finally felt better and wasn't sore anymore, though her knees have a long way to go with healing.  Wednesday night she and little sister got home from church and was having a wrestling match with dad (because what else would dad's do RIGHT BEFORE BED😏) when she came out to the living room to tell me she suddenly had a headache and suddenly didn't feel good.  Livi complaining about a headache is rare, so our red flag was immediately raised. Right after that she got sick...twice. We immediately jumped into action and trying to figure out what was suddenly going on, only to have her tell us she hit her head on the floor while wrestling with daddy.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

David swears he doesn't think she hit it that hard, but she must have hit it just right. She was nauseated, dizzy, had a headache, and had just hit her head fifteen minutes earlier, so all we could assume is she had her first concussion.

Unfortunately, our family isn't unfamiliar with concussions...Millie's had a couple of bad ones as a toddler from falling off chairs and beds, Daivd's had his fair share with football and going head to head with a chainsaw, and a couple of summer's ago I hit my head on the boat lift at the lake and it literally put a crack in my skull that's still there. I walked around in a daze for weeks after.

So I guess it was only a matter of time before Livi got one of her own. I got her to stay up till 11pm (which was no easy chore) and then I finally felt safe enough to let her go to sleep. When she woke up, she said she was dizzy and still had a headache, but thankfully she says it's gotten better as the day has gone on. I don't feel we're out of the clear just yet, so prayers are appreciated (not that anyone is reading this but my mom, but thankfully she's a big prayer).

She's not complaining too much though because her injury awarded her and little sister an "iPad day." Pulling the iPads out is a rare occasion at our house, so they soak it in whenever they get the chance.

Of course, they spent the whole day in our bed....some things haven't changed even after a three year blogging break.

Here's hoping she's done with the injuries for awhile.
